ANYWAY
i hope you like it ;v; <3 <3

zevran has one of those faces that’s nigh-on impossible to capture in a still frame, because he’s in constant motion. part of it’s an act and part of it’s natural, but he’s not…the thedas equivalent of photogenic, let’s call it, for that exact reason. he’s all hard angles; features that shouldn’t work together but somehow do, if only  because they’re never still long enough to stop; sly smiles and subtlety mixed with the over-the-top, the outrageous, the overt and the obvious. and it’s that interplay that acts like his cloak and daggers. he’s too slippery to know in a single frame—not that he allows portraits to be painted, anyway. (better not to be recognized, no?)

but this—this encapsulates that internal sense of rhythm, of motion, the dynamism of a body that doesn’t know how to be at rest and a face that can’t afford to be predictable. and it is, of course, beautiful, in the same way danger is beautiful, and large, hungry cats licking their whiskers before mealtime are beautiful. the wrinkles that line his smirk are everything i love about his face. like the leather he prizes: soft and hard, stiff and supple, and stitched to ever so many a purpose.
